Mr. Martin - Assistant Principal

Hello, my name is Troy Martin and I am very excited to be starting my third year as the Assistant Principal at Vista Verde Middle School.  I would like to welcome both our new students, who will be attending Vista for the first time, as well as all of our returning Cougars. I will continue to work with our Principal, Mrs. Arce, and our staff, teachers, parents, and students as we provide a positive and safe learning environment where students can excel here at Vista Verde Middle School.

We are dedicated to offering a school that promotes collaboration among teachers, students, parents, and administration working together to create a setting where students can be successful.

With the continued implementation of the Common Core State Standards, our teachers, and administrators, have been attending trainings and working hard to provide a smooth transition to these new expectations for your child. We are committed to ensure that all students not only acquire knowledge, but will also be able to apply that knowledge in new and practical ways as they prepare for high school and college.

As a school community, we will continue to support your student both academically as well as behaviorally through our Response to Intervention (RTI2). Alongside your child’s academic instruction we will also be providing behavioral instruction through our Olweus Anti-Bullying program along with fun activities throughout the week to help reinforce positive behavior.

Here at Vista Verde, we are all dedicated to help each one of our students achieve success. The teachers, staff, and administration take pride in developing relationships with our students so that we may better understand each student's needs. It is my personal goal to build a strong rapport with our students and their families by being highly active, approachable, and visible on campus. Although some students may never get the opportunity to visit my office (this is not a bad thing), I will be talking with students during lunches, walking through classrooms, and attending special events. I look forward to helping your child feel safe, secure, and successful this school year.

I am dedicated to creating a culture where students excel, teachers inspire, and parents are proud to be a part of Vista Verde Middle School. It is an honor to be serving the students, parents, staff, and teachers this school year and hopefully for many years to come.

Go Cougars!

Sincerely,

Troy Martin
