"Man is still the most extraordinary computer of all."
~John F. Kennedy
My name is Mr. Martinez and I will be your child's Computer teacher. The following is my daily schedule:
Period 3--Spanish 1
Period 7--Spanish 1
**All my classes meet daily in room 509.
In this computer literacy class, students will increase their understandings of the basic operations and concepts of technology. They will demonstrate in-depth knowledge in the use of the computer as a tool for productivity, communication, and research. Students will be mainly working with Microsoft Office 2010, which includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Students will also be learning keyboarding skills, as this will be necessary in their academic as well as personal future. Students will learn how to create and format a variety of documents such as personal and business letters, flyers, brochures, invitations, menus, and business cards. They will learn to create spreadsheets and to produce engaging slide shows through the use of PowerPoint.
Students need to log in to http://www.typingweb.com/ to access their keyboarding homework. Each student has their own individual username and password. I've assigned 10 minutes per day (Monday through Thursday).
Example of username and password:
If students don't have access to a computer/internet at home, they can come to room 509 during Advisory or after school to complete their homework. Students can also access their homework at our school's library before school, during lunch, and after school.
